Potalia is a small village of 410 hectares in Kushalgarh Tehsil in Banswara district, also known as City of Hundred Islands in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Potalia depends on Kushalgarh, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - One river, One canal and Two springs. Potalia is also near by One lake. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Potalia's pin code is 327606[4], and village code is 03506600. The area of Potalia is segregated as 164 hectares irrigated area, 127 hectares unirrigated, the 30 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 89 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Potalia has One post office (Kalinjara S.O). Potalia has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Potalia is a census village in the district of Banswara, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 2916 and has total administration over 538 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Potalia has 600 children, 319 boys and 281 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 229 (7.85%) males constitute 112 (3.84%) of the population and females 117 (4.01%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 2314 (79.36%) males constitute 1158 (39.71%) of the population and females 1156 (39.64%).

The workforce is 757 male, 711 female with 543 (36.99%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 311 males and 232 females. 222 males and 132 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 3 male and 75 female agricultural labor. 925 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Kushalgarh and Banswara to sell tiles and make their living.
