    Priest Nikola (14th Century) was a Serbian monk who lived and worked in Raška during the rule of Lazar of Serbia Hrebeljanović. [1]

    All that is known of this author is that he transcribed a Meaneon (liturgical book) for the month of August and that he was commissioned to do it by a monk named Joasaf. He wrote "The Message of a Prisoner, though it is not known why Nikola was incarcerated at the time he wrote the inscription.
