Granada is a province of southern Spain located in the eastern portion of the autonomous community of Andalusia. It is the second most populous province in Spain after Madrid. In addition to the provinces of Albacete, Murcia, Almera, Jaén, Córdoba, Málaga, and the Mediterranean Sea, it has borders with the provinces of Murcia, Almera, Jaén, Córdoba, Málaga, and the Mediterranean Sea (along the Costa Tropical). Granada is also the name of the country's capital city.
An area of 12,531 km2 is covered by the province (4,838 sq mi). In 2019, the country's population was 914,678, with about 30% of the people living in the capital.
