Pugaliya is a small village of 2715 hectares in Shergarh Tehsil in Jodhpur district, also known as the Blue City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Pugaliya depends on Phalodi, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, Two Wells supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Pugaliya is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Pugaliya's pin code is 342021[4], and village code is 01975800. The area of Pugaliya is segregated as 10 hectares irrigated area, 2580 hectares unirrigated, the 104 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 21 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Pugaliya has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Pugaliya is a census village in the district of Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1676 and has total administration over 354 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Pugaliya has 327 children, 184 boys and 143 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 417 (24.88%) males constitute 230 (13.72%) of the population and females 187 (11.16%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 135 (8.05%) males constitute 75 (4.47%) of the population and females 60 (3.58%).

The workforce is 434 male, 382 female with 350 (42.89%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 223 males and 127 females. 177 males and 126 females are considered as the main cultivators. 466 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Phalodi and Jodhpur to sell ghee and make their living.
