Pur is a small village of 4078 hectares in Sanchore Tehsil in Jalor district, also known as Granite City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Pur depends on SANCHORE, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 9.96% of the total supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Pur is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Well. Pur's pin code is 343041[4], and village code is 02330700. The area of Pur is segregated as 537.16 hectares irrigated area, 3356.18 hectares unirrigated, the 117.32 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 67.66 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Pur has One post office (Pur B.O) and One public telephone. The village is connected with a single bus service. Pur has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

Pur is a census village in the district of Jalor, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 3583 and has total administration over 606 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Pur has 658 children, 354 boys and 304 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 514 (14.35%) males constitute 270 (7.54%) of the population and females 244 (6.81%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 594 (16.58%) males constitute 321 (8.96%) of the population and females 273 (7.62%).

The workforce is 946 male, 662 female with 1324 (82.34%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 873 males and 451 females. 444 males and 243 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 258 male and 178 female agricultural labor. 284 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of SANCHORE and Jalor to sell ghee and make their living.
