Pura is a small village of 373 hectares in Jhalrapatan Tehsil in Jhalawar district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Pura depends on Jhalrapatan, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Pura is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Pura's pin code is 326021[4], and village code is 04006300. The area of Pura is segregated as 34.07 hectares irrigated area, 121.35 hectares unirrigated, the 76.1 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 29.94 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Pura has One post office (Ruparel B.O) and One public telephone. Pura has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Pura is a census village in the district of Jhalawar, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 514 and has total administration over 95 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Pura has 74 children, 48 boys and 26 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 175 (34.05%) males constitute 96 (18.68%) of the population and females 79 (15.37%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 89 (17.32%) males constitute 56 (10.89%) of the population and females 33 (6.42%).

The workforce is 137 male, 111 female with 233 (93.95%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 126 males and 107 females. 77 males and 102 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 1 male and 2 female agricultural labor. 15 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Jhalrapatan and Jhalawar to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
