Rai is a small village of 161 hectares in Kotra Tehsil in Udaipur district, also called 'the city of lakes' set amidst the Aravalli Ranges in the state of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Rai depends on Pindwara, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Rai is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Well. Rai's pin code is 313708[4], and village code is 03084800. The area of Rai is segregated as 3.36 hectares irrigated area, 56.44 hectares unirrigated, the 32.12 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 69.27 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Rai has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Rai is a census village in the district of Udaipur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 576 and has total administration over 96 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Rai has 120 children, 42 boys and 78 girls.
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 574 (99.65%) males constitute 280 (48.61%) of the population and females 294 (51.04%).

The workforce is 228 male, 205 female with 129 (29.79%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 114 males and 15 females. 108 males and 2 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 3 male and 12 female agricultural labor. 304 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Pindwara and Udaipur to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
