Rakshi is a small village of 935 hectares in Banera Tehsil in Bhilwara district, also known as the Textile City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Rakshi depends on Shahpura, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 109.10% of the total supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Rakshi is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Rakshi's pin code is 311401[4], and village code is 02829000. The area of Rakshi is segregated as 110.33 hectares irrigated area, 272.54 hectares unirrigated, the 275.45 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 226.43 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Rakshi has One post office (Rakshi B.O) and One public telephone. Rakshi has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Rakshi is a census village in the district of Bhilwara, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1889 and has total administration over 410 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Rakshi has 330 children, 155 boys and 175 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 449 (23.77%) males constitute 211 (11.17%) of the population and females 238 (12.60%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 98 (5.19%) males constitute 48 (2.54%) of the population and females 50 (2.65%).

According to a census 2011 report, 1091 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 523 male, 568 female with 639 (58.57%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 344 males and 295 females. 202 males and 9 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 17 male and 264 female agricultural labor. 452 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Shahpura and Bhilwara to sell furniture and make their living.
