Rey Chavez (born October 7, 1974) is an American businessman, singer, and composer. His music style comprises several genres such as Pop, Reggaeton, Salsa, and his compositions are upbeat, danceable songs, claiming wide recognition and popularity in Latin America and several other continents.[1][2]
During his musical career, he is known to have led successful collaborations with notable artists such as Alex Sensation, Arcangel, Pipe Calderon, and several others. He is best known for his popular concerts in Latin American countries such as Mexico, Colombia, and the Dominican Republic. Chavez is often regarded as a Latin Star and as a Revelation of Music owing to his subsequent successful releases and popularity. His music can be found on all major streaming platforms including Spotify, Wynk, Apple Music, and others.[3][4]
Early life[edit]
Chavez was born on October 7, 1974, in Havana Cuba, and later relocated to the United States, Miami, Florida, in 1999. He was instilled with a passion for music at an early age by his grandfather. After settling down in the US, he began singing in church.
Career[edit]
Chavz started his musical journey in 2015, by building connections with influential people and artists in the industry. His musical compositions range from tropical and urban genres and are expressions of his feelings, everyday life, and Cuban rhythm, and are free from vulgarity and abusive language.
"I'm going to steal the bride" and "At first sight" are two of his initial releases through which he started gaining visibility. In 2017, he released two more songs, "She has" and "I learned it with you". In 2018, Chavez released the singles "Si Tu te vas", "Hazme el Amor", "Llámame" and "Dime por por". The song was featured in collaboration with renowned Puerto Rican reggaeton artist Arcangel.
"I ask you for forgiveness," "I want to go," and "I don't know whether he loves me," which was a collaboration with a Dominican singer of tropical music named Alex Sensation, and "Una Noche Loca" were some of the most well-known songs that Rey Chavez released in 2019, gaining widespread recognition and notoriety.
In 2021, Chavez further extended his musical repertoire with singles "Ella está pa' photo", "Vacaciones", "Días de Los padre" and "Basta ya". Basta Ya was a type of song protest against the injustices encountered by Cuban society as a whole and gained huge popularity with over 2.5 million YouTube views. His recent releases in 2022, are "Lovers or friends" and "Choca choca". His popular EP release in the year include 5G Urbano and 5G Salsa.
Apart from his successful musical career, Chavez is also an entrepreneur. He runs a supermarket in Hialeah, Florida, and its meat products are widely popular among his customers.

Personal life[edit]
Chavez is an avid sports lover. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He actively contributes and volunteers to the children’s program in the fight against cancer. He also runs a charitable non-profit organization named Aldea del Nino, in Santiago. The foundation aims at rescuing children from the streets and providing them with basic necessities of life including food, shelter, and education, enabling them to lead a better life.
