Rivem is a small village of 892 hectares in Satari Tehsil in North Goa district, known and rated to have the best quality of life in India (based on the commission’s “12 Indicators”)[2] in the state of Goa, India.[3] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Rivem depends on VALPOI, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[4] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Rivem is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tap. Rivem's pin code is 403506[5], and village code is 00012400. The area of Rivem is segregated as 4.06 hectares irrigated area, 530.58 hectares unirrigated, the 339.14 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 17.84 hectare area not available for cultivation.

The workforce is 42 male, 28 female with 30 (42.86%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 24 males and 6 females. 2 males and 0 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 2 male and 1 female agricultural labor. 40 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.
They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of VALPOI and North Goa to sell country liquor and make their living.
