Riwan is a small village of 255 hectares in Fatehpur Tehsil in Barabanki district in the State of Uttar Pradesh, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Riwan depends on Fatehpur (NP) , the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Riwan's pin code is 225305[4], and village code is 05711000. The area of Riwan is segregated as 229 hectares irrigated area, 21 hectares unirrigated area. the 3 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves) and remaining 2 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Riwan has One public telephone. Riwan has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Riwan is a census village in the district of Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh. The village has a total population of 1635 and has total administration over 294 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Riwan has 300 children, 169 boys and 131 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 498 (30.46%) males constitute 267 (16.33%) of the population and females 231 (14.13%).

The workforce is 293 male, 25 female with 308 (96.86%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 286 males and 22 females. 275 males and 19 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 1 male and 1 female agricultural labor. 10 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Fatehpur (NP) and Barabanki to sell peppermint oil and make their living.
