Saiwar is a small village of 1087 hectares in Shahpura Tehsil in Jaipur district, also known as the Pink City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Saiwar depends on Shahpura, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Saiwar is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Saiwar's pin code is 303103[4], and village code is 01470300. The area of Saiwar is segregated as 57.5 hectares irrigated area, 419.67 hectares unirrigated, the 116.72 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 73.06 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Saiwar has One post office (Saiwad B.O) and One public telephone. The village is connected with a single bus service. Saiwar has One bank, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Saiwar is a census village in the district of Jaipur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 4939 and has total administration over 813 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Saiwar has 690 children, 374 boys and 316 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 1408 (28.51%) males constitute 727 (14.72%) of the population and females 681 (13.79%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 129 (2.61%) males constitute 65 (1.32%) of the population and females 64 (1.30%).

According to a census 2011 report, 1433 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 1161 male, 272 female with 1318 (91.97%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 1120 males and 198 females. 95 males and 89 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 77 male and 11 female agricultural labor. 115 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Shahpura and Jaipur to sell furniture and make their living.
