Sakariya is a small village of 4211 hectares in Pokaran Tehsil in Jaisalmer district, nicknamed ""The Golden city"" in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Sakariya depends on POKARAN, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, One canal and Two springs. Sakariya is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tubewell. Sakariya's pin code is 345021[4], and village code is 02047200. The area of Sakariya is segregated as 810.04 hectares irrigated area, 4.04 hectares unirrigated, the 2781.65 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 344.19 hectare area not available for cultivation.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of POKARAN and Jaisalmer to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
