Sakat is a small village of 949 hectares in Rajgarh Tehsil in Alwar district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Sakat depends on RAJGARH, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - One river, Two canals and Two springs. Sakat is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Sakat's pin code is 301415[4], and village code is 00909600. The area of Sakat is segregated as 575 hectares irrigated area, 280 hectares unirrigated, the 10 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 84 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Sakat has One post office (Sakat B.O) and Twenty Five public telephones. Sakat has Two banks, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Sakat is a census village in the district of Alwar, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 7039 and has total administration over 1239 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Sakat has 1105 children, 570 boys and 535 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 737 (10.47%) males constitute 387 (5.50%) of the population and females 350 (4.97%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 2563 (36.41%) males constitute 1344 (19.09%) of the population and females 1219 (17.32%).

According to a census 2011 report, 3693 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 1889 male, 1804 female with 2223 (60.19%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 1484 males and 739 females. 840 males and 379 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 93 male and 216 female agricultural labor. 1470 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of RAJGARH and Alwar to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
