Samuel Taylor (20 November 1902 – 1975) was an English professional footballer who played as an inside right. He made 160 appearances in the English Football League between Chesterfield, Wrexham and Walsall[1]
Taylor was part of the Chesterfield team which scored in 46 consecutive Football League matches between 1929 and 1930, scoring the only goal in a 1–1 draw against Rotherham United on Christmas Day 1929 which proved to be the first goal of that historic run. The record stood for 73 years until Arsenal's Invincibles bettered it in 2003.[2]
