Samarmal is a small village of 218 hectares in Kotra Tehsil in Udaipur district, also called 'the city of lakes' set amidst the Aravalli Ranges in the state of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Samarmal depends on Pindwara, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Samarmal is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Samarmal's pin code is 313708[4], and village code is 03091200. The area of Samarmal is segregated as 1 hectares irrigated area, 30 hectares unirrigated, the 39 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 148 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Samarmal has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Samarmal is a census village in the district of Udaipur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 513 and has total administration over 100 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Scheduled tribe counts for 512 (99.81%) males constitute 270 (52.63%) of the population and females 242 (47.17%).

The workforce is 130 male, 122 female with 105 (41.67%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 95 males and 10 females. 86 males and 8 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 8 male and 2 female agricultural labor. 147 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Pindwara and Udaipur to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
