Samod is a small village of 1648 hectares in Chomu Tehsil in Jaipur district, also known as the Pink City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Samod depends on Chomu, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, Two Wells supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Samod is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Samod's pin code is 303806[4], and village code is 01486500. The area of Samod is segregated as 193.3 hectares irrigated area, 175.81 hectares unirrigated, the 311.3 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 168.11 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Samod has One post office (Samod S.O) and Seventy public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Samod has One bank, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Samod is a census village in the district of Jaipur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 9365 and has total administration over 1462 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Samod has 1353 children, 767 boys and 586 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 2162 (23.09%) males constitute 1143 (12.21%) of the population and females 1019 (10.88%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 318 (3.40%) males constitute 174 (1.86%) of the population and females 144 (1.54%).

The workforce is 2475 male, 1496 female with 2409 (60.66%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 1823 males and 586 females. 421 males and 380 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 65 male and 40 female agricultural labor. 1562 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Chomu and Jaipur to sell shoes making and make their living.
