Sandlai is a small village of 195 hectares in Kushalgarh Tehsil in Banswara district, also known as City of Hundred Islands in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Sandlai depends on Kushalgarh, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Sandlai is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Sandlai's pin code is 327801[4], and village code is 03497000. The area of Sandlai is segregated as 74.37 hectares irrigated area, 35 hectares unirrigated, the 18 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 20.63 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Sandlai has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Sandlai is a census village in the district of Banswara, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 889 and has total administration over 198 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Sandlai has 166 children, 89 boys and 77 girls.
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 877 (98.65%) males constitute 460 (51.74%) of the population and females 417 (46.91%).

The workforce is 255 male, 237 female with 88 (17.89%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 61 males and 27 females. 49 males and 22 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 9 male and 2 female agricultural labor. 404 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Kushalgarh and Banswara to sell ghee and make their living.
