Sankhoo is a small village of 3003 hectares in Rajgarh Tehsil in Churu district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Sankhoo depends on RAJGARH, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 21.03% of the total supply, One tank, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Sankhoo is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Sankhoo's pin code is 331303[4], and village code is 00596000. The area of Sankhoo is segregated as 21.03 hectares irrigated area, 2261.05 hectares unirrigated, the 132.02 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 332.03 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Sankhoo has One post office (Sankhu Fort S.O) and Forty public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Sankhoo has One bank and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Sankhoo is a census village in the district of Churu, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 5728 and has total administration over 1052 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Sankhoo has 847 children, 440 boys and 407 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 1004 (17.53%) males constitute 535 (9.34%) of the population and females 469 (8.19%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 129 (2.25%) males constitute 71 (1.24%) of the population and females 58 (1.01%).

The workforce is 1544 male, 1322 female with 1684 (58.76%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 1195 males and 489 females. 527 males and 303 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 36 male and 96 female agricultural labor. 1182 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of RAJGARH and Churu to sell earthen pots and make their living.
