Sanod is a small village of 2175 hectares in Nasirabad Tehsil in Ajmer district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Sanod depends on Nasirabad, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 285.00% of the total supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Sanod is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Sanod's pin code is 305601[4], and village code is 02552700. The area of Sanod is segregated as 285 hectares irrigated area, 942 hectares unirrigated, the 853.45 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 95 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Sanod has One post office (Sanod B.O) and One public telephone. The village is connected with a single bus service. Sanod has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Sanod is a census village in the district of Ajmer, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 3256 and has total administration over 602 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Sanod has 484 children, 256 boys and 228 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 507 (15.57%) males constitute 255 (7.83%) of the population and females 252 (7.74%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 63 (1.93%) males constitute 36 (1.11%) of the population and females 27 (0.83%).

The workforce is 899 male, 854 female with 1397 (79.69%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 775 males and 622 females. 350 males and 488 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 11 male and 24 female agricultural labor. 356 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Nasirabad and Ajmer to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
