Sarai is a small village of 127 hectares in Dausa Tehsil in Dausa district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Sarai depends on Dausa, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 23.17% of the total supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Sarai is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Sarai's pin code is 303506[4], and village code is 01403600. The area of Sarai is segregated as 23.17 hectares irrigated area, 80.12 hectares unirrigated, the 12.77 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 11.15 hectare area not available for cultivation.

The village is connected with a single bus service. Sarai has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Sarai is a census village in the district of Dausa, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 941 and has total administration over 193 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Sarai has 172 children, 96 boys and 76 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 711 (75.56%) males constitute 373 (39.64%) of the population and females 338 (35.92%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 38 (4.04%) males constitute 22 (2.34%) of the population and females 16 (1.70%).

The workforce is 227 male, 163 female with 224 (57.44%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 185 males and 39 females. 24 males and 25 females are considered as the main cultivators. 166 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Dausa to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
