Sarana is a small village of 3328 hectares in Pachpadra Tehsil in Barmer district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Sarana depends on BALOTRA, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 674.00% of the total supply, One tank, One tubewell, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Sarana is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tubewell. Sarana's pin code is 344022[4], and village code is 02149900. The area of Sarana is segregated as 674 hectares irrigated area, 2159.01 hectares unirrigated, the 76 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 418.56 hectare area not available for cultivation.
Sarana has One post office (Sarana B.O) and Fifty public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Sarana has One bank, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

Sarana is a census village in the district of Barmer, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 4293 and has total administration over 792 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.
- Sarana has 704 children, 386 boys and 318 girls.
- Scheduled caste counts for 660 (15.37%) males constitute 353 (8.22%) of the population and females 307 (7.15%).
- Scheduled tribe counts for 648 (15.09%) males constitute 363 (8.46%) of the population and females 285 (6.64%).

Employment[edit]
According to a census 2011 report, 2308 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 1248 male, 1060 female with 927 (40.16%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 687 males and 240 females. 458 males and 206 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 10 male and 11 female agricultural labor. 1381 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.
They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of BALOTRA and Barmer to sell furniture and make their living.
