Sarayan is a small village of 3180 hectares in Taranagar Tehsil in Churu district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Sarayan depends on TARANAGAR, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Sarayan is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tubewell. Sarayan's pin code is 331304[4], and village code is 00572200. The area of Sarayan is segregated as 2814.43 hectares unirrigated, the 168.8 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 196.9 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Sarayan has One post office (Sarayan B.O) and One public telephone. The village is connected with a single bus service. Sarayan has Two banks, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Sarayan is a census village in the district of Churu, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 3646 and has total administration over 666 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Sarayan has 616 children, 322 boys and 294 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 624 (17.11%) males constitute 325 (8.91%) of the population and females 299 (8.20%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 2 (0.05%) males constitute 2 (0.05%) of the population and females 0 (0.0%).

The workforce is 1017 male, 774 female with 1428 (79.73%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 855 males and 573 females. 598 males and 495 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 103 male and 65 female agricultural labor. 363 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of TARANAGAR and Churu to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
