Sarli is a small village of 2540 hectares in Barmer Tehsil in Barmer district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Sarli depends on BARMER, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Sarli is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Well. Sarli's pin code is 344703[4], and village code is 02222700. The area of Sarli is segregated as 2466 hectares unirrigated, the 2 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 72 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Sarli has One post office (Sarli B.O). The village is connected with a single bus service. Sarli has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Sarli is a census village in the district of Barmer, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 886 and has total administration over 165 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Sarli has 188 children, 104 boys and 84 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 92 (10.38%) males constitute 48 (5.42%) of the population and females 44 (4.97%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 304 (34.31%) males constitute 160 (18.06%) of the population and females 144 (16.25%).

According to a census 2011 report, 483 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 273 male, 210 female with 352 (72.88%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 227 males and 125 females. 205 males and 109 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 8 male and 5 female agricultural labor. 131 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Barmer to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
