Sarvona is a small village of 786 hectares in Bicholim Tehsil in North Goa district, known and rated to have the best quality of life in India (based on the commission’s “12 Indicators”)[2] in the state of Goa, India.[3] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Sarvona depends on BICHOLIM, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[4] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Sarvona is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tap. Sarvona's pin code is 403529[5], and village code is 00009600. The area of Sarvona is segregated as 10.4 hectares irrigated area, 503.2 hectares unirrigated, the 128.39 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 143.87 hectare area not available for cultivation.

The village is connected with a single bus service. Sarvona has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with One recreational center.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Sarvona is a census village in the district of North Goa, Goa. The village has a total population of 3586 and has total administration over 787 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Sarvona has 418 children, 204 boys and 214 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 57 (1.59%) males constitute 29 (0.81%) of the population and females 28 (0.78%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 35 (0.98%) males constitute 15 (0.42%) of the population and females 20 (0.56%).

According to a census 2011 report, 1356 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 1077 male, 279 female with 1019 (75.15%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 799 males and 220 females. 57 males and 35 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 4 male. 337 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of BICHOLIM and North Goa to sell country liquor and make their living.
