Sarwani is a small village of 521 hectares in Banswara Tehsil in Banswara district, also known as City of Hundred Islands in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Sarwani depends on Banswara, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Sarwani is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Sarwani's pin code is 327604[4], and village code is 03442800. The area of Sarwani is segregated as 44 hectares irrigated area, 231 hectares unirrigated, the 21 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 129 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Sarwani has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Sarwani is a census village in the district of Banswara, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1160 and has total administration over 222 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Sarwani has 276 children, 139 boys and 137 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 10 (0.86%) males constitute 8 (0.69%) of the population and females 2 (0.17%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 1150 (99.14%) males constitute 597 (51.47%) of the population and females 553 (47.67%).

Employment[edit]

According to a census 2011 report, 601 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 304 male, 297 female with 484 (80.53%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 261 males and 223 females. 90 males and 74 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 124 male and 140 female agricultural labor. 117 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Banswara to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
