Satheen is a small village of 6780 hectares in Bhopalgarh Tehsil in Jodhpur district, also known as the Blue City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Satheen depends on Pipar City, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 313.61% of the total supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Satheen is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tubewell. Satheen's pin code is 342601[4], and village code is 01954700. The area of Satheen is segregated as 313.61 hectares irrigated area, 3574 hectares unirrigated, remaining 2892 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Satheen has One post office (Sathin B.O) and One public telephone. The village is connected with a single bus service. Satheen has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Satheen is a census village in the district of Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 6924 and has total administration over 1321 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Satheen has 1020 children, 538 boys and 482 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 1181 (17.06%) males constitute 633 (9.14%) of the population and females 548 (7.91%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 9 (0.13%) males constitute 6 (0.09%) of the population and females 3 (0.04%).

According to a census 2011 report, 3211 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 1806 male, 1405 female with 1696 (52.82%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 1541 males and 155 females. 657 males and 60 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 194 male and 37 female agricultural labor. 1515 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Pipar City and Jodhpur to sell earthen pot and make their living.
