Sawalda is a small village of 537 hectares in Aklera Tehsil in Jhalawar district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Sawalda depends on Aklera, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Sawalda is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Sawalda's pin code is 326039[4], and village code is 04046800. The area of Sawalda is segregated as 32.88 hectares irrigated area, 38.28 hectares unirrigated, the 124.61 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 341.04 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Sawalda has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Sawalda is a census village in the district of Jhalawar, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 290 and has total administration over 60 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Sawalda has 72 children, 39 boys and 33 girls.
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 168 (57.93%) males constitute 93 (32.07%) of the population and females 75 (25.86%).

The workforce is 80 male, 66 female with 140 (95.89%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 78 males and 62 females. 58 males are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 6 male and 62 female agricultural labor. 6 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Aklera and Jhalawar to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
