Sawar is a small village of 3873 hectares in Sardarshahar Tehsil in Churu district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Sawar depends on SARDARSHAHAR, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 10.00% of the total supply, One tank, One tubewell, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Sawar is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tubewell. Sawar's pin code is 331411[4], and village code is 00604200. The area of Sawar is segregated as 10 hectares irrigated area, 3613.57 hectares unirrigated, the 111 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 138 hectare area not available for cultivation.

The village is connected with a single bus service. Sawar has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Sawar is a census village in the district of Churu, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 2849 and has total administration over 547 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Sawar has 461 children, 234 boys and 227 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 822 (28.85%) males constitute 424 (14.88%) of the population and females 398 (13.97%).

The workforce is 789 male, 735 female with 1512 (99.21%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 782 males and 730 females. 768 males and 722 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 2 male and 1 female agricultural labor. 12 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of SARDARSHAHAR and Churu to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
