She debuted in 2021, with the release of her album titled “The Red Cup Demo”. Once her song “Crush” was released,[1] she garnered a lot of fame throughout the United States.[2][3]
Scilence is best known for her musical genre a mix of electronic 80s synth pop and hip hop. She has a melodious and sweet tone to her compositions while her ad-libs are characterized by having more punchy aggression to them. Scilence’s music is available on her website and on all major digital music streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Soundcloud, and others. She has been featured in several media outlets such as Hip Hop Weekly,[4] Voyagela,[5] Disrupt magazine,[6] and others.
Scilence was born on August 28, 1990, in NE Washington D.C. Her stage name came from not beginning to talk until the age of 6. Growing up, Silence was always surrounded by Go-Go bands, thus at the age of 12, she developed a certain interest and started writing music along with playing the piano, guitar, and drums.
Silence received her training as a recording engineer at the Studio West Recording School in San Diego, California. During her studies, she also undertook an internship at Black Wav Studio located in EI Cajon, California.[7]
Scilence started her musical journey as a rapper in 2019. She released her first project in 2021, “The Red Cup Demo”. She collaborated with Bizzare, a highly recognized rapper from the legendary rap group D12,[8] on the track “Crush”,[9] which was one out of the nine songs from her first record. Following the success, she released her second project “The Solo Cup EP”, influenced by dynamic vocal effects and auto-tune.
Scilence’s projects are always scheduled to release on New Year’s day, a new day celebrating when everyone has red party cups in their hands, which is a signature feature of Scilence’s music videos. Her upcoming project “Scilence Unplugged”, a live rendition of her fan's favorite songs from her previous albums, will be released on January 1, 2023.[10]
