Sela is a small village of 1063 hectares in Bali Tehsil in Pali district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Sela depends on Bali, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, Two Wells supply, which is 218.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Sela is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Sela's pin code is 306701[4], and village code is 02475700. The area of Sela is segregated as 268 hectares irrigated area, 526 hectares unirrigated, the 145 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 124.02 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Sela has One post office (Sela B.O) and Twenty public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Sela has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Sela is a census village in the district of Pali, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1774 and has total administration over 366 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Sela has 231 children, 111 boys and 120 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 516 (29.09%) males constitute 252 (14.21%) of the population and females 264 (14.88%).

The workforce is 427 male, 132 female with 476 (85.15%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 401 males and 75 females. 38 males and 3 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 33 male and 9 female agricultural labor. 83 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Bali and Pali to sell bricks and make their living.
