Selana is a small village of 821 hectares in Jhadol Tehsil in Udaipur district, also called 'the city of lakes' set amidst the Aravalli Ranges in the state of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Selana depends on Udaipur, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 3.00% of the total supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - One river, One canal and Two springs. Selana is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Selana's pin code is 313702[4], and village code is 03128000. The area of Selana is segregated as 37 hectares irrigated area, 116 hectares unirrigated, the 92 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 139.01 hectare area not available for cultivation.

The village is connected with a single bus service. Selana has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Selana is a census village in the district of Udaipur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 2031 and has total administration over 408 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Selana has 428 children, 227 boys and 201 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 68 (3.35%) males constitute 31 (1.53%) of the population and females 37 (1.82%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 1951 (96.06%) males constitute 990 (48.74%) of the population and females 961 (47.32%).

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Udaipur to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
