Semaliya is a small village of 242 hectares in Garhi Tehsil in Banswara district, also known as City of Hundred Islands in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Semaliya depends on Pratapgarh, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 15.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - One river, Two canals and Two springs. Semaliya is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Semaliya's pin code is 327022[4], and village code is 03397600. The area of Semaliya is segregated as 73 hectares irrigated area, 132 hectares unirrigated, the 30 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 7 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Semaliya has One post office (Garhi S.O (Banswara)) and One public telephone. The village is connected with a single bus service. Semaliya has One bank and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Semaliya is a census village in the district of Banswara, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1995 and has total administration over 432 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Semaliya has 216 children, 127 boys and 89 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 38 (1.90%) males constitute 22 (1.10%) of the population and females 16 (0.80%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 711 (35.64%) males constitute 361 (18.10%) of the population and females 350 (17.54%).

According to a census 2011 report, 1055 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 549 male, 506 female with 315 (29.86%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 296 males and 19 females. 129 males and 2 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 109 male and 13 female agricultural labor. 740 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Pratapgarh and Banswara to sell ghee and make their living.
