The Seminole Warhawk Band is the band program at Seminole High School in Seminole, Florida. The program includes different ensembles, including the marching band, concert bands, jazz ensembles, chamber ensembles, winter guard, and the indoor percussion ensemble.[1] The band is known for its “Tradition of Excellence”.[2]
The Seminole High School Warhawk Marching Band is a nationally known, award-winning competitive marching band. The ensemble consists of a hornline (brass and woodwinds), drumline, front ensemble, colorguard , and sometimes actors and/or a prop crew. They are an active band in the Florida Marching Band Championships (FMBC) circuit, competing in Class AAAA, and have been the state's class champions multiple times. They also compete nationally in competitions like Bands of America (BOA) and USBands.
Each spring, a new show is revealed to the band members. This show is rehearsed throughout the summer, then performed throughout the fall. During the other half of the year, the band marches in local parades.

The Seminole High School Wind Ensemble is the elite concert band at Seminole High School. Membership is by audition only, and is comprised of the students with the highest performing ability. Students of the Seminole Wind Ensemble have gone on to study at some of the country's most prestigious universities, conservatories and schools of music, including MIT, New England Conservatory, Juilliard, Manhattan School of Music, Rice University, Oberlin, Indiana, Michigan, San Francisco Conservatory, Boston Conservatory, Berklee, Yale University, LSU, and many others. The group has performed in Gatlinburg, Williamsburg, Washington, D.C., Chicago, Colorado Springs, Indianapolis, Boston, New Orleans, Greenville, Gainesville, and Atlanta.[17]
The Seminole High School Symphonic Band is the intermediate level concert band of the program, and is open to any Seminole student without audition. In 2015, the Symphonic Band was named champion of the Concert Band 3A Division at the Music USA Festival in Orlando, Florida.[18]
The Seminole Jazz Bands (excluding jazz combo) are directed by Steven Harris.
The All In Big Band is the elite jazz band at Seminole High School, and membership is by audition-only. The Seminole Big Band has earned Superior Ratings at the District Jazz Festival for over 20 years. From there, they continue on to the State Jazz Festival. They were named Grand Champion of the Heritage Music Festival in Washington, D.C. and earned individual awards for outstanding soloists.[19]
The High Noon Jazz Ensemble is the second jazz band, and is open to any Seminole student without audition.[20]
The Seminole Soundbreakers is a student-led jazz combo, consisting of the selected best jazz musicians in the school. It was created in the 2012-13 school year. Since then, the combo has gotten superior ratings at district and state solo and ensemble, and was named Grand Champion of the Music USA Festival 2015 in Orlando.[20]
The Seminole Indoor Percussion Ensemble, or SIPE, is a competitive indoor percussion ensemble, participating in Florida Federation of Colorguards Circuit (FFCC) and Winter Guard International (WGI) competitions. It consists of a front ensemble and a drumline. Seminole has formerly hosted their own FFCC show at the school, Seminole Visual Spectacular.

The Seminole High School Winter Guard is a competetive indoor winter guard group, participating in Florida Federation of Colorguards Circuit (FFCC) and Winter Guard International (WGI) competitions. The group has also attended and made finals at WGI World Championships.
There several chamber ensembles in the Seminole Band, including the brass choirs (1 and 2), woodwind choirs (1 and 2), percussion ensemble, saxophone quartet, and trombone choir. These groups go to the Pinellas District Solo and Ensemble, and often go on to State Solo and Ensemble.
The Academy for the Advanced Achievement in the Arts, also known as "4A", is an academy at Seminole High School that includes all fine arts students. The four pillars are: Dramatic Arts, Visual Arts, Vocal Arts, and Instrumental Arts. [21]
The Tri-M Music Honor Society, or simply Tri-M, is the international music honor society. The society recognizes students for their academic and musical achievements, rewards them for their accomplishments and service activities, and inspires other students to excel at music and leadership.[22]
