Shahbad is a small village of 770 hectares in Tijara Tehsil in Alwar district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Shahbad depends on TIJARA, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, One tank, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Shahbad is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Shahbad's pin code is 301411[4], and village code is 00811400. The area of Shahbad is segregated as 683 hectares irrigated area, 22 hectares unirrigated, the 19 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 46 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Shahbad has One post office (Shahbad B.O) and Thirteen public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Shahbad has One bank, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Shahbad is a census village in the district of Alwar, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 4316 and has total administration over 836 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Shahbad has 601 children, 336 boys and 265 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 1131 (26.20%) males constitute 628 (14.55%) of the population and females 503 (11.65%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 4 (0.09%) males constitute 3 (0.07%) of the population and females 1 (0.02%).

The workforce is 1174 male, 905 female with 1553 (74.7%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 1031 males and 522 females. 335 males and 256 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 239 male and 120 female agricultural labor. 526 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of TIJARA and Alwar to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
