Shahgarh is a small village of 361 hectares in Baran Tehsil in Baran district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Shahgarh depends on Baran, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 30.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - One river, Two canals and Two springs. Shahgarh is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Shahgarh's pin code is 325222[4], and village code is 03871800. The area of Shahgarh is segregated as 156 hectares irrigated area, 63.1 hectares unirrigated, the 27 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 115 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Shahgarh has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Shahgarh is a census village in the district of Baran, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 309 and has total administration over 66 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Shahgarh has 45 children, 25 boys and 20 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 26 (8.41%) males constitute 13 (4.21%) of the population and females 13 (4.21%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 101 (32.69%) males constitute 51 (16.50%) of the population and females 50 (16.18%).

The workforce is 90 male, 74 female with 96 (58.54%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 70 males and 26 females. 49 males and 23 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 18 male and 2 female agricultural labor. 68 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Baran to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
