Shekhsar is a small village of 1125 hectares in Jhunjhunu Tehsil in Jhunjhunu district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Shekhsar depends on MANDAWA, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 140.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Shekhsar is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Shekhsar's pin code is 333001[4], and village code is 00682400. The area of Shekhsar is segregated as 140 hectares irrigated area, 793 hectares unirrigated, the 178 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 14 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Shekhsar is a census village in the district of Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 2003 and has total administration over 383 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

- Scheduled caste counts for 336 (16.77%) males constitute 159 (7.94%) of the population and females 177 (8.84%).
- Scheduled tribe counts for 116 (5.79%) males constitute 51 (2.55%) of the population and females 65 (3.25%).

According to a census 2011 report, 1061 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 536 male, 525 female with 739 (69.65%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 406 males and 333 females. 301 males and 305 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 8 male and 3 female agricultural labor. 322 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.
They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of MANDAWA and Jhunjhunu to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
