Shekhsar is a small village of 6048 hectares in Lunkaransar Tehsil in Bikaner district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Shekhsar depends on BIKANER, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Shekhsar is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tubewell. Shekhsar's pin code is 334603[4], and village code is 00520600. The area of Shekhsar is segregated as 435 hectares irrigated area, 5015.64 hectares unirrigated, the 463 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 134 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Shekhsar has One post office (Shekhsar B.O) and One public telephone. The village is connected with a single bus service. Shekhsar has One bank, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Shekhsar is a census village in the district of Bikaner, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 3666 and has total administration over 514 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Scheduled caste counts for 930 (25.37%) males constitute 471 (12.85%) of the population and females 459 (12.52%).

The workforce is 1209 male, 1175 female with 1585 (66.48%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 853 males and 732 females. 587 males and 291 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 115 male and 61 female agricultural labor. 799 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Bikaner to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
