Shergarh is a small village of 1030 hectares in Bayana Tehsil in Bharatpur district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Shergarh depends on Bayana, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Shergarh is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Shergarh's pin code is 321401[4], and village code is 01080500. The area of Shergarh is segregated as 441 hectares irrigated area, 177 hectares unirrigated, the 152 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 33 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Shergarh has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Shergarh is a census village in the district of Bharatpur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 2614 and has total administration over 417 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Shergarh has 456 children, 275 boys and 181 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 296 (11.32%) males constitute 169 (6.47%) of the population and females 127 (4.86%).

The workforce is 713 male, 443 female with 703 (60.81%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 566 males and 137 females. 409 males and 105 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 24 male and 14 female agricultural labor. 453 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Bayana and Bharatpur to sell rope making and make their living.
