Sherpur is a small village of 302 hectares in Ramgarh Tehsil in Alwar district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Sherpur depends on BEHROR, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, Two Wells supply, which is 251.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Sherpur is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Sherpur's pin code is 301025[4], and village code is 00769900. The area of Sherpur is segregated as 251 hectares irrigated area, 10 hectares unirrigated, the 12 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 28.68 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Sherpur is a census village in the district of Alwar, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 2404 and has total administration over 415 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Scheduled caste counts for 445 (18.51%) males constitute 225 (9.36%) of the population and females 220 (9.15%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 139 (5.78%) males constitute 73 (3.04%) of the population and females 66 (2.75%).

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of BEHROR and Alwar to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
