Sherpura is a small village of 529 hectares in Phagi Tehsil in Jaipur district, also known as the Pink City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Sherpura depends on Shahpura, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 155.25% of the total supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Sherpura is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tubewell. Sherpura's pin code is 303005[4], and village code is 01475400. The area of Sherpura is segregated as 155.25 hectares irrigated area, 173.51 hectares unirrigated, the 137.64 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 21.96 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Sherpura has Four public telephones. Sherpura has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Sherpura is a census village in the district of Jaipur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1913 and has total administration over 291 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Sherpura has 272 children, 147 boys and 125 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 380 (19.86%) males constitute 207 (10.82%) of the population and females 173 (9.04%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 63 (3.29%) males constitute 32 (1.67%) of the population and females 31 (1.62%).

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Shahpura and Jaipur to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
