Shivpura is a small village of 1077 hectares in Chohtan Tehsil in Barmer district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Shivpura depends on BALOTRA, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Shivpura is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Well. Shivpura's pin code is 344012[4], and village code is 02119800. The area of Shivpura is segregated as 1068.59 hectares unirrigated, the 6.18 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 2.3 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Shivpura has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Shivpura is a census village in the district of Barmer, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 883 and has total administration over 142 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Shivpura has 195 children, 92 boys and 103 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 35 (3.96%) males constitute 16 (1.81%) of the population and females 19 (2.15%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 511 (57.87%) males constitute 269 (30.46%) of the population and females 242 (27.41%).

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of BALOTRA and Barmer to sell woolan cloth and make their living.
