Show jumping is one of a collection of English riding equestrian activities that also include dressage, eventing, hunters, and equitation. At horse events across the globe, including the Olympics, jumper classes are a typical occurrence. Jumper classes are presented in combination with other English-style activities at certain shows, while at others, show jumping is only one division of much larger all-breed championships that include a broad range of disciplines as a whole. For example, the United States Equestrian Federation in the United States, or the British Showjumping Association in Great Britain, governs national horse show jumping classes. There are regulations that regulate international competitions, which are based on the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI). It is well-known that horses excel in jumping, both in competition and on their own.
