Silora is a small village of 230 hectares in Kishangarh Tehsil in Ajmer district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Silora depends on Kishangarh, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Silora is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Silora's pin code is 305802[4], and village code is 02493300. The area of Silora is segregated as 35 hectares irrigated area, 79 hectares unirrigated, the 8 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 104 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Silora has One post office (Silora B.O) and Nineteen public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Silora has One bank, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Silora is a census village in the district of Ajmer, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1251 and has total administration over 244 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Silora has 161 children, 91 boys and 70 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 58 (4.64%) males constitute 30 (2.40%) of the population and females 28 (2.24%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 17 (1.36%) males constitute 9 (0.72%) of the population and females 8 (0.64%).

According to a census 2011 report, 489 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 350 male, 139 female with 429 (87.73%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 342 males and 87 females. 35 males and 41 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 12 male and 1 female agricultural labor. 60 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Kishangarh and Ajmer to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
