Sirsoon is a small village of 529 hectares in Makrana Tehsil in Nagaur district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Sirsoon depends on Parbatsar, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, Two Wells supply, which is 31.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Sirsoon is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Well. Sirsoon's pin code is 341501[4], and village code is 01886000. The area of Sirsoon is segregated as 31 hectares irrigated area, 447.05 hectares unirrigated, the 11 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 40 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Sirsoon has One post office (Sirsu B.O) and Five public telephones. Sirsoon has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Sirsoon is a census village in the district of Nagaur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 989 and has total administration over 203 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Sirsoon has 156 children, 89 boys and 67 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 192 (19.41%) males constitute 105 (10.62%) of the population and females 87 (8.80%).

According to a census 2011 report, 338 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 263 male, 75 female with 295 (87.28%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 239 males and 56 females. 67 males and 43 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 28 male and 4 female agricultural labor. 43 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Parbatsar and Nagaur to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
