Siwas is a small village of 1213 hectares in Desuri Tehsil in Pali district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Siwas depends on Rani, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 500.00% of the total supply, One tank, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Siwas is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tubewell. Siwas's pin code is 306502[4], and village code is 02457500. The area of Siwas is segregated as 572 hectares irrigated area, 245 hectares unirrigated, the 91 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 304.98 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Siwas has One post office (Khinwara S.O) and Ten public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Siwas has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Siwas is a census village in the district of Pali, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 2287 and has total administration over 508 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Siwas has 274 children, 141 boys and 133 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 409 (17.88%) males constitute 206 (9.01%) of the population and females 203 (8.88%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 104 (4.55%) males constitute 53 (2.32%) of the population and females 51 (2.23%).

The workforce is 569 male, 441 female with 806 (79.8%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 486 males and 320 females. 196 males and 190 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 15 male and 17 female agricultural labor. 204 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Rani and Pali to sell earthen pot and make their living.
