Siwna is a small village of 2273 hectares in Jalor Tehsil in Jalor district, also known as Granite City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Siwna depends on JALOR, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 75.00% of the total supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Siwna is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Well. Siwna's pin code is 343024[4], and village code is 02297600. The area of Siwna is segregated as 300 hectares irrigated area, 1592 hectares unirrigated, the 161 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 220.11 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Siwna has One post office (Sawna B.O) and Ten public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Siwna has Two banks, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Siwna is a census village in the district of Jalor, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 3313 and has total administration over 601 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Siwna has 535 children, 294 boys and 241 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 791 (23.88%) males constitute 412 (12.44%) of the population and females 379 (11.44%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 237 (7.15%) males constitute 117 (3.53%) of the population and females 120 (3.62%).

According to a census 2011 report, 1366 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 864 male, 502 female with 860 (62.96%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 754 males and 106 females. 416 males and 47 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 146 male and 31 female agricultural labor. 506 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Jalor to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
