Sodawas is a small village of 517 hectares in Mandawar Tehsil in Alwar district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Sodawas depends on KHAIRTHAL, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 72.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Sodawas is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Sodawas's pin code is 301427[4], and village code is 00779500. The area of Sodawas is segregated as 361 hectares irrigated area, 100 hectares unirrigated, remaining 56 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Sodawas has One post office (Sodawas B.O) and Ten public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Sodawas has One bank, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Sodawas is a census village in the district of Alwar, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 3644 and has total administration over 557 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Sodawas has 641 children, 337 boys and 304 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 975 (26.76%) males constitute 483 (13.25%) of the population and females 492 (13.50%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 105 (2.88%) males constitute 46 (1.26%) of the population and females 59 (1.62%).

The workforce is 971 male, 707 female with 1035 (61.68%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 805 males and 230 females. 324 males and 190 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 34 male and 9 female agricultural labor. 643 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of KHAIRTHAL and Alwar to sell earthen pot and make their living.
