Sohangarh is a small village of 249 hectares in Deogarh Tehsil in Rajsamand district, known for Rajsamand Lake, an artificial lake created in the 17th century by Rana Raj Singh in the state of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Sohangarh depends on DEOGARH, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Sohangarh is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Sohangarh's pin code is 313331[4], and village code is 02970000. The area of Sohangarh is segregated as 10.02 hectares irrigated area, 36.03 hectares unirrigated, the 176.05 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 27.1 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Sohangarh has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Sohangarh is a census village in the district of Rajsamand, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1061 and has total administration over 224 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Sohangarh has 159 children, 83 boys and 76 girls.
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 46 (4.34%) males constitute 22 (2.07%) of the population and females 24 (2.26%).

The workforce is 284 male, 210 female with 469 (94.94%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 276 males and 193 females. 247 males and 174 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 15 male and 11 female agricultural labor. 25 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of DEOGARH and Rajsamand to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
