Sohela is a small village of 2154 hectares in Todaraisingh Tehsil in Tonk district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Sohela depends on Tonk, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, One canal and Two springs. Sohela is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Sohela's pin code is 304505[4], and village code is 02609300. The area of Sohela is segregated as 382 hectares irrigated area, 693.11 hectares unirrigated, the 128.83 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 352.13 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Sohela has One post office (Lamba Kalan B.O) and Thirty public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Sohela has One bank, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Sohela is a census village in the district of Tonk, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 3268 and has total administration over 635 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Sohela has 424 children, 240 boys and 184 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 987 (30.20%) males constitute 536 (16.40%) of the population and females 451 (13.80%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 146 (4.47%) males constitute 79 (2.42%) of the population and females 67 (2.05%).

According to a census 2011 report, 1510 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 1060 male, 450 female with 1244 (82.38%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 954 males and 290 females. 220 males and 135 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 61 male and 109 female agricultural labor. 266 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Tonk to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
